Swim Team Places Third in Districts
The Moeller Swim team placed third in the SW District meet on Sunday with a total of 229 points behind St. X and Centerville. Congratulations to the team on a great meet, especially Jacob Peloquin who placed first in the 100 Back and 100 Fly. Eight swimmers will be traveling to state this year: Jacob Peloquin, Kevin George, Will McCullough, Cooper Hodge, Noah Worobetz, Dan Nymberg, Justin Davidson and Austin Theobald. The team leaves on Thursday to compete in prelims on Friday and finals on Saturday. Congratulations as you wind up another great season.
2015 – District Championships – Swim Team
Three new school records – Congratulations to junior Jacob Peloquin (2) and senior Kevin George (1). Despite the fact that the District Championship had to be postponed from Friday evening until noon on Sunday at Miami University, the Crusader Swim team performed at an exceptionally high level for the sixth consecutive season. Following the final event, the team has qualified a total of seven (7) swimmers on to the State Championships in Canton, Ohio this coming weekend. Representing Moeller H.S. in four events each will be seniors Kevin George and Noah Worobetz, along with juniors Cooper Hodge and Jacob Peloquin. Junior Dan Nymberg, sophomore Will McCullough and freshman Justin Davidson will complete the State qualifier list.
Junior Jacob Peloquin won both the 100yd. Butterfly and 100yd. Backstroke, as he set new school records in both events – (49.05) seconds in the Fly and (50.44) seconds in the Backstroke.
Kevin George lowered his own school record in the 500yd. Freestyle to (4:29.07). The 200yd. Medley Relay of Noah Worobetz, Cooper Hodge, Jacob Peloquin and Kevin George narrowly missed lowering the standard for that event by a mere (0.17) seconds. Best wishes to all of these young men at the State Meet.
