INSTRUCTOR: Mr. Michael Cameron

CREDIT: 0.25

MEETS: Every day for a semester

TEACHING METHOD: Learn by doing! Students are expected to participate in all class activities

GRADING: Factors that determine the grade are: attendance, effort, participation, sportsmanship, fitness skills and unit skills.

NON PARTICIPATION: Requires a note from a doctor, unless the reason is obvious.

DRESS: All students are required to wear the appropriate uniform described in the student handbook..

CLASS CONDUCT: Student’s are expected to follow the school’s and class policies on behavior and dress. Inappropriate behavior will be handled by the teacher. In extreme cases of misconduct the Dean of Students will be involved. The philosophy used in regards to behavior is; no student has the right to interfere with the education process or the safety of another student.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

To give the student an awareness of the importance of life long involvement in physical activities.

To help in the promotion and achievement of complete physical fitness.

To give the student a cultural appreciation of various sports and physical activities.

To develop a sense of fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship.

To develop an understanding of sports skills, rules, strategies and safety guidelines.
