INSTRUCTOR                            Mr. Michael Cameron

CREDIT                                     0.25

MEETS                                      Every other day for one semester

OBJECTIVES:

To give the student an awareness of the importance of life long involvement in physical activities

To give the student an appreciation of the importance of physical fitness in their life                                   

To develop a sense of fair play, sportsmanship and team work

To develop a cultural appreciation of a variety of sports

To develop an understanding of fundamentals, rules, strategies and safety precautions of a variety of sports and related activities

TEACHING METHOD               

Lab type setting. Students are expected to participate to their fullest in all activities

GRADING  

Factors that determine the grade are; attendance, participation, preparedness, affective skill (cooperation, sportsmanship, teamwork) and competition points.

NON PARTICIPATION            

Requires a note from the doctor, unless the reason is obvious.

DRESS                                    

The student must have blue Moeller gym shorts,  gym shoes, and a t-shirt.  Students are permitted to wear sweat pants and sweat shirts.

CONDUCT                              

Students are expected to conform to the school's handbook policies on behavior and dress. Inappropriate behavior will be handle by the teacher or in extreme cases of misconduct by the Dean of Students. It is important that the student realize that he cannot interfere with the education process or the safety of another.
