The official web sit of the Moeller Historical Miniatures Wargaming Club.
What is Wargaming?
It is our attempt to recreate or simulate historical military actions and engagements. We will "refight" both actual battles or hypothetical situations based on historical situations. This is done using highly detailed, hand painted, scaled miniature figurines as well as scale simulations of terrain to recreate the tactical environment of a military engagement. In other words we play with toy soldiers.
How do we do this?
Play is controlled by specific rules unique to each military time period. Movement is predetermined and a ruler or tape measure is used to physically move the figures. Dice represent luck or random factors. Firepower and unit morale are critical issues covered by the specific rule system used for that particular game. Success is usually a combination of how well you can recreate the proven tactics of the time period and luck.
