Mr. Paul Kindt

Paul Kindt (Moeller class of ’90) will be teaching freshman and sophomore religion in 2007-08, his ninth year at Moeller.  He received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Morehead State University in Kentucky, and then taught general music (K-8) for five years in Cincinnati’s Catholic grade schools.  After many years of instructing the Moeller Band during the summer months, Paul joined the faculty in 1999 as an assistant band director teaching a few religion classes.  His love for the Catholic Faith has led him to a fulltime position in the department, and he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theology through Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.  

An active Catholic musician, Paul currently directs the Contemporary Music Ensemble at St. Gertrude Church in Madeira, and is the music director for Cincinnati 2000 (and formerly YOUTH 2000), an international, Catholic, Eucharistic-centered retreat for young people.   He has also serves with the music ministry of Good Shepherd Church, and instructed instrumentalists at the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's first Laudate Music Ministry Retreat.  He's had the chance to perform alongside many leading Catholic musicians, including Jim Cowan & Fr. Stan Fortuna.

Outside of his Church commitments, Paul has a relatively diverse résumé.  He has played clarinet with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed in almost every major venue in the city as a solo pianist, vocalist, saxophonist, or sound engineer.  Paul currently sings and plays saxophone with the incomparable funk/soul band, Off The Hook, every Friday and Saturday at Jag's in West ChesterAlso active as a composer, songwriter, and arranger, he writes for several local groups including the Moeller Marching Band and is currently recording and producing a CD of contemporary Christian music.

He lives in Maineville with his wife, Beth, who teaches fifth grade at St. Columban School in Loveland.  They have two sons, Elliot (5) and Peter (2..."and a half!").
