Welcome to Reading Workshop!  This course is designed to assist you in making the adjustment to Archbishop Moeller High School academic requirements.  The course activities are designed to improve your reading, organizing, study, and test-taking skills.  You will be assigned, as well as asked to select, reading material and respond to it verbally and in written format.  You will learn to gather and retain facts, note the traits and development of characters, predict outcomes, note main ideas and plot development, and relate life experiences with occurrences in the books, short stories, and poetry that you read.  You will also be assigned activities involving reading across the curriculum in order to assist you in acquiring skills and strategies that will enhance your opportunities for academic success in areas other than Language Arts.
