WHAT IS A MAP?
A MAP (Moeller Assistance Plan) is a written plan documenting specific classroom accommodations for a student with a diagnosed disability. A copy of the student's MAP is given to his current teachers. Reviews and updates are made yearly.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR A MAP?
* Students with a diagnosed disability who upon entering Moeller received special education services and had a current written Individual Educational Plan (IEP), Service Plan or a 504 Plan
* Students with a diagnosed disability who have documented classroom accommodations recommended by a qualified evaluator(s)
* Students who have been recommended by the Moeller Intervention Assistance Team or by a referring school's Intervention Assistance Team and who need classroom accommodations due to "academic risk factors"
WHO DO I CONTACT?
If your son meets one of the above criteria notify Gail Dorsey (791-1680 x1213) or your son's counselor to initiate the MAP process. Students who receive special education services from Mrs. Huff, Mrs. Kagy or Mrs. Matuszek will also have a classroom accommodation plan (MAP) in addition to their Individual Service Plan.
