Philosophy

The purpose of the Moeller English Department is to develop, expand, and build upon the language experiences of each student at Moeller. Courses integrate several components: reading skills, writing skills, grammar, usage, mechanics, forms of composition, literary studies, reference skills, speaking and listening skills. Year-long genre courses are American literature, British literature, and world literature. Special points of emphasis in the department include writing process, writing workshop, team learning, and interdisciplinary teaching.
