Annually, on the Monday before Memorial Day, the Social Studies Department hosts Viet Nam Day. This is an in-school field trip for the entire junior class as part of their American History course. Over 20 guest speakers, most of them veterans from the Vietnam War, will participate in panel discussions with the students. Topics for discussion include the Military Story, the Home Front/Coming Home, and Vietnam in Film. A vintage helicopter landing is planned for the afternoon, as well as static displays of weapons and equipment from various National Guard and Reservists units.
