Philosophy
The Social Studies Department prepares the student for an active role in his church and society through the development of citizenship knowledge and skills, as well as Christian values. The department course of studies examines multiple cultures and ways of life, the development and history of American and European traditions and cultures, as well as current events around the world. The department emphasizes research and analysis of writings, critical thinking skills, the writing process, cooperative learning, geographic skills, multicultural appreciation and awareness, and computer-based methodology.
