Is a foreign language required?

It is not required for graduation at Moeller. Most colleges desire 2 credits for admission. Some colleges prefer 3 or more years. Some colleges will accept students without foreign language credit.
Who should take a foreign Language?
Those who have good command of English. Those who read and write at grade level or better. Those who have a good command of grammar, spelling and syntax in their native language. If a student has a low verbal score on the entrance test, he may be asked to wait a year to begin a foreign language.
Why take a foreign language?
To enhance cultural diversity and awareness. To better understand people of other nations. To further appreciate our own culture by having a view of it from another culture. To help in awareness of one's own personal heritage. To increase an understanding of how English functions by comparing it to another language. To heighten enjoyment of travels abroad. To enhance a person's ability to deal in a multi-cultural world.
Which language should I take?
No language is considerably easier or more difficult than any other. Your choice should be based on your interests heritage, preference, future job, etc., not on the myth that one is easier than another. Studying any foreign language results in higher SAT scores.
