PHASE II of the LAPTOP PROGRAM
2005-2006 was the beginning for Phase II of the laptop program. There are many new components that were incorporated into the program enhancing the classroom use of student laptops. The laptop program provides an integral facet of the overall educational experience for students. The program is unique among secondary schools and one in which we take great pride. Your input and support will impact the success of Phase II and the use of student laptops in the curriculum. The technology department has been coordinating the implementation of Phase II. Please feel free to ask for help or information from any member of the department.
The following is an outline of the six major components of the Phase II Laptop Program for 2005-2006:
- FORMATION OF A FACULTY TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
- FORMATION OF A STUDENT TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
- TEACHER SUPPORT CLASSES WITH CEU CREDIT
- EXPANSION OF THE HELP CENTER AND TECH SUPPORT
- REVISION OF THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS CLASS
- INTRODUCTION OF NEW SOFTWARE FOR CLASSROOM USE GIVING THE TEACHER MORE CONTROL OVER STUDENT ACCESS
