"I try to create challenges for my students. The pace of a college course is demanding and requires setting priorities. This is different for a more mature-college age student than it is for a high school student. I add problems that relate to what topic they are covering in their module, but require more thought (the critical thinking piece). This is in addition to the labs and related tasks that each student has to complete. During class time, I highly encourage the students to work with each other. This is not simply copying from one another, but explaining to each other. I have found that sometimes someone else can better explain something than I and I encourage this."

"My highest prerogative in class is the integration of the teachings and work of Jesus Christ and His mother the Virgin Mary as a model of faith for us His subjects; that religious vision is integral to my prerogative to help my students reach their academic and growth potential; also that achieving a qualification of bilinguals and therefore successful students of Spanish, students should become bearers of good faith and intention in order to contribute to the common good of humanity."

"In my classes, each text can connect to the students' lives in some way. In addition, they encounter a diverse array of cultures and life experiences that expand the students' own life experiences. We also work in authentic writing, which is writing for a purpose beyond just to satisfy a grade."

"Teaching psychology and human geography provide me the opportunity to consistently work on my students' ability to discuss complex issues and gain an understanding of people, which hopefully makes them more empathetic humans. Psychology is all about relationships and being authentic. We are consistently working on being our true, authentic selves, by gaining an understanding of how people think, feel and act."
