COLLEGE COUNSELING

SCHOOL COUNSELING: REALIZING YOUR FULL POTENTIAL

With a best-in-class student to counselor ratio, the young men of Moeller build genuine relationships with their counselors over their four-year education journey. Moeller’s counseling program delivers holistic, individualized, data-driven counseling activities and interventions to support students in their social and emotional development, academic growth, and college and career planning. Counselors provide support for students who need help adjusting to high school, seek mental and emotional support, need strategies for managing stress, struggle with anxiety and depression, and/or experience sudden life changes.

COLLEGE COUNSELING: FOCUSING ON YOUR FUTURE

Moeller offers a comprehensive college counseling program designed to guide students towards their academic and career goals. College and career planning begins as early as freshman year, providing students ample time to explore options and make informed decisions. Students participate in assessments and discussions to identify potential career paths that align with their interests and strengths. Counselors provide individual, small group, and classroom counseling sessions to assist students with college research, application processes, and essay writing. Counselors also meet with students and their families to generate college lists and discuss application best practices.

SIDON: DIRECTOR OF HAPPINESS

Sidon, a yellow lab, comes to us from Circle Tail, Inc., a company that provides facility dogs specially trained to provide physical, social, cognitive, and emotional assistance. Their dogs have gone through extensive training to work with young adults in a school environment. Sidon is the counseling department’s facility dog, otherwise affectionately known as the director of happiness. He resides in the counseling office during the day and frequently attends class. He also provides much-needed stress relief during exam time.

PERSONAL AND SOCIAL SUPPORT
Counselors provide support for students who need help adjusting to high school, students who seek mental and emotional support, students who are looking to manage stress, those who struggle with anxiety and depression and who have sudden life changes. Moeller and Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), a student-led club, have become partners dedicated to mental health conversations. BC2M’s high school program gives teens a platform to share their voices and raise awareness around mental health. Our goal is to empower students to educate one another, their communities, and to create a culture of peer support within our school.

COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS
The College Credit Plus (CCP) program enhances students’ college and career readiness and postsecondary success. College-ready students  who qualify can take college-level courses for which they earn both high school and transcripted college credit upon successful completion of coursework.
