Notre Dame Anthropology Professor to Offer Free Lecture

Main - Auditorium - Auditorium
Professor James McKenna of the University of Notre Dame Anthropology Department will present “Gender Injustice: Context, Culture, and Communication” on Monday, October 3 at Moeller High School at 7:00pm. The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception with light refreshments will precede the lecture at 6:30.

In the lecture, McKenna will describe the historical roots of how, when and why women lost social, economic and political equality, and explore how addressing the tensions men and women face in communicating with each other, both personally and professionally, can help close the gap. One of Notre Dame’s most popular professors, Professor McKenna has won many teaching awards since joining the faculty in 1997 and has published more than 130 refereed articles in medical, anthropology, and psychology journals.

Co-sponsored by the Notre Dame Club of Greater Cincinnati, Archbishop Moeller High School, the Moeller Moms’ Club and the Notre Dame Alumni Association, the lecture is the 2016 installment of the annual Hesburgh Lecture Series offered by the university’s alumni association since 1986.  For more information, call 513-703-5107 or email club@ndcincy.com.
