Moeller "Primetime" Invitational

Cross Country Update....Week One, Moeller "Primetime" Invitational

 The Crusader Cross Country Team opened the season under the “Friday Night Lights” on August 25^th, 2017 hosting the Moeller “Primetime” Invitational presented by Buckeye Running Company at the Christ’s Church Mason in Mason, Ohio, finishing 5^th of 8 teams in the D1 race with 128 points.  

 

This year’s top finisher for Moeller was Senior Jack Lowry with a 5^th place finish in 16:41 (out of 84 runners).   Also scoring for Varsity were Senior Ben Bowers (16th – 17:15), Senior Nick Lima (38^th – 18:06), Junior John Pappalardo (47^th – 18:37), and Freshman Will Mendel (55^th – 18:57).   Rounding out the Varsity squad were Ethan Cepluch, Cannon Spelman, Brayden Zenni, Jason Wanamaker, Johnathan Buck, Chase Widener, Tristan McKenzie, Will Leary, and Dan Kunkel.

The JV/Open squad finished 4^th of 6 teams in D1 with 98 points. Top finisher for that race was Senior Peyton Smiddy in 39^th place in 19:44 (out of 242 runners).   Also scoring for JV were Joey Balint, Ben Hall, Jon Stentz, and Nathan Weisgerber.

For the upcoming meet, the team travels to Lebanon, Ohio on September 2^nd, 2017 to compete in the Lebanon Warrior Invitational at Lebanon High School.

 

After being forced to cancel the “Primetime” in 2016 as the result of a damaged course from our previous venue, we were thrilled to return in “Primetime” at our new location at the Christ’s Church Mason.   The church has been an outstanding partner in hosting this event, and we look forward to continuing this meet annually.
