Coldwater/Ross Invite Results....Week Seven Update

The regular season concluded for the Moeller Cross Country Team on Saturday, October 5^th, 2019 with a split-squad doubleheader at both the Coldwater Lions Club Invitational held at Cavalier Stadium in Coldwater, Ohio and the Ross Invitational at Ross High School in Hamilton, Ohio.

 

At Coldwater, it was the Varsity “White” Squad that finished 4^th of 18 teams with 112 points just missing second place by a mere 9 points.   Leading that squad was Cannon Spelman ’21 with a 10^th place finish in 17:06 (out of 229) runners.   Also scoring were Grant Prather ’22 (15^th – 17:28), Thomas Zaugg ’20 (26^th – 17:40), Ian Hale ’20 (29^th – 17:46), and Sebastian Rahe ’23 (35^th – 17:54).   Rounding out that squad were Logan Mitchell ’22, Will Mendel ’21, Zach Colbert ’22, Will Speigle ’20, Derek Konkoly ’21, Ethan Cepluch, ’20, Sam Cline ’22, and Nick Momper ’20.

The Varsity “White” Squad at Coldwater.

 

At Ross, it was the Varsity “Gold” Squad that finished 13^th of 17 teams with 388 points. Leading that squad was Jon Stentz ’20 in 65^th place in a time of 18:28 (out of 161 runners).   Also scoring for that squad were Jameson Maynes ’22 (85^th – 19:00), Sam McCullough ’23 (100^th – 19:24), Alex Longwell ’22 (105^th – 19:37), and Eli Smiddy (106^th – 19:38).   Rounding out that varsity squad were Kyle Hegemann ’21, Logan Horst ’20, Alex Weisgerber ’23, Quentin Barber ’20, and Michael Your ’21.

 

Also at Ross was the JV/Open race where that squad finished 6^th of 11 teams with 175 points.   Leading Moeller for that race was Dominic Pappalardo ’21 in 36^th place with a time of 19:45 (out of 170 runners).   Also scoring for that squad were Ryan Mendoza ’21, Sam Clark ’21, Alec Stentz ’21, and Drew Henke ’20.

The post-season now begins with the GCL South Championship at Moeller’s home course….Christ’s Church Mason, in Mason, Ohio on Saturday, October 12^th, 2019.   The Freshmen squad will compete at 8:30am, Varsity and JV squads will run a combined race at 9:30am, followed by the Open race at 10:00am.  Awards to follow at 11:00pm.  The team would greatly appreciate having a blue/gold cheering section there on Saturday morning as we go up against our league rivals on all three levels.   Thanks in advanced for all your continued support of Moeller Cross Country, and good luck to all the other fall sports the remainder of their seasons.
