Trinity/Cedarville Invitationals Results…Week Four Update
Known as the “Oldest Cross Country Meet in Kentucky”, the Moeller Crusader Varsity “Gold” squad traveled to Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational on September 16, 2023. With many of the very best teams from around the Midwest USA running in this event, this squad finished 9th of 31 teams with 287 points.
Moeller’s first runner was Max Maney ’24 in 44th place (out of 285 runners) with a time of 15:59. Also scoring: Jacob Herzog ’24 (47th – 16:01), Brock Grubert ’26 (52nd – 16:10), Preston Wesley ’26 (89th – 16:34), and Owen Speed ’26 (110th – 16:46). Also running were Zach Lazor, Finn Taylor, Colin Evans, and Jake Karulf. There was no JV race.
The “Blue” squad competed in the Friendship Invitational at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course on the campus of Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio where they finished 14th of 18 teams with 404 points.
Crossing the line first for Moeller was Colin Swallender ’24 in 105th place (out of 448 runners) in a time of 18:25. Also scoring: Jake Allen ’26 (107th – 18:27), Steve Schuette ’26 (126th 18:42), Owen Brennan ’24 (146th – 18:55), and Leo Tierney ’26 (154th – 19:00). There was no JV race.
The next race will be the Midwest Catholic Championship at Elvin R. King Cross Country Course on the campus of Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio on September 23, 2023. Varsity race time is 10:45am.
