Midwest Catholic Results...Week Five Update

Moeller’s Cross Country Team was back on the course Saturday, September 23^rd, 2023, for the Midwest Regional Catholic Championships at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course on the campus of Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. The Crusaders finished in 1st place in the 8 team Gold Division with 51 points.

For Moeller, Max Maney ’24 was the top finisher in 2^nd place with a time of 16:01 (out of 134 runners). Also scoring: Jacob Herzog ’24 (7^th – 16:39), Preston Wesley ’26 (10^th – 16:58), Owen Speed ’26 (14^th – 17:13), and Brock Grubert ’26 (22^nd – 17:33). Rounding out Varsity were Jake Allen, Finn Taylor, Zach Lazor, Colin Swallender, and Colin Evans.

In the JV race, that squad finished 1^st of 6 teams with 15 points. Scoring first for Moeller in that race was Jake Karulf ’24 in 1^st place with a time of 18:50 (out of 103 runners). Also scoring in that race were Steve Schuette, Owen Brennan, Leo Tierney, and Jacob Scott.

The Crusaders will do another split squad on September 30^th, 2023 with the Varsity Gold traveling out of state to the McQuaid Invitational in Rochester, New York. And the Varsity Blue going to Springfield, Ohio compete in the Jim Murray Memorial Invitational at Champions Park Cross Country Course (aka Clark County Fairgrounds).
