BROTHER EVESLAGE:
THE LEGACY OF "THE BIG E" LIVES ON AT MOELLER

Eveslage House honors Brother Lawrence Eveslage, S.M., the first principal of Archbishop Moeller High School. Standing well over six feet tall, Brother Larry—fondly known as "The Big E"—was a towering presence in both stature and spirit. A Marianist brother for 71 of his 90 years, he dedicated his life to high school education, shaping Moeller’s foundation with bold leadership and an unwavering commitment to the Marianist tradition. His legacy of excellence lives on, as Eveslage House proudly claimed the first-ever Marianist Cup and dominated six of the first ten years.
At the heart of the Eveslage crest is the Marianist Cross, representing Brother Eveslage’s lifelong mission. The eagle, the house mascot, embodies authority, loyalty, and courage. Three crosses atop three hills serve as a reminder of the families to which every member belongs—the Roman Catholic family, the Moeller family, and the Eveslage family—united in faith, tradition, and brotherhood.
THE HOUSE SYSTEM
Moeller’s nationally recognized House System transforms student governance into a vibrant, tight-knit community. Since 2005, students from all four grades have been united into Houses, each with mentor groups led by dedicated teachers and student captains.
Each student is guided by at least three significant adults—a house dean, mentor teacher, and counselor—who monitor and support his academic, social, and spiritual growth. The system strengthens relationships between students and faculty, fosters a strong sense of community, and provides leadership opportunities for all students.
