MARIANIST-INSPIRED
For over 60 years, Archbishop Moeller High School has been shaping the next generation with one bold mission—Catholic. Marianist. Forming our Students into Remarkable Men. Men of faith, academic excellence, and character.
This mission started with our first principal, Brother Lawrence Eveslage, S.M., who built a culture deeply rooted in the Marianist tradition. Through the Characteristics of a Marianist Education: educate for formation in faith; provide an integral; quality education; educate in family spirit; educate for service, justice, and peace; educate for adaptation and change, Brother Eveslage laid the foundation for Moeller to be the leaders in educating young men.
But it was Archbishop Karl Alter who had the vision. He appointed Monsignor McCarthy and Brother Richard Sibbing, S.M., to oversee the planning and construction of a school that would stand as a living tribute to the Most Reverend Henry Moeller, the fourth Archbishop of Cincinnati. In September 1960, Moeller opened its doors to a freshman class drawn from 15 parishes across Greater Cincinnati. Just four years later, the Class of 1964 became the first to graduate, carrying forward the Moeller name with pride. Today, with more than 12,000 alumni, the legacy of the Men of Moeller continues—brothers united by faith, leadership, and the Marianist spirit.
