Our diverse arts program is designed to ignite the creative passion within each student, for a comprehensive and enriching experience in visual arts,
music, chorus and theatre.

Moeller students have a variety of arts programs to choose fromwhether trying something creative for the first time or developing previous interests, skills and craft to expert levels. Led by experienced and dedicated faculty with professional partnerships throughout the world, Moeller students join a dynamic curriculum that encourages exploration, experimentation, and expression. Students are immersed in a vibrant and supportive environment that fosters growth, collaboration, and a lifelong love for creation.

MOELLER/MND BAND

The Moeller/Mount Notre Dame (MND) Band is a dynamic partnership between Moeller High School and MND, with over 75 members performing at concerts, football games, competitions, and musicals.

In the fall, students join the marching band, delivering high-energy performances with electronics, dance, guitars, and more. 

It’s a great way for incoming freshmen to make friends before school even starts!

After football season, students transition to concert band, performing at Christmas and spring concerts, as well as in major cities. Additional opportunities include jazz band, pep band, and the spring musical.

WE ARE SHAPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CREATIVE LEADERS, EQUIPPING YOUNG MEN WITH THE SKILLS TO THRIVE IN ANY ARTISTIC FIELD.

Moeller students learn to create and analyze art while developing verbal communication skills. Through bi-weekly critiques, they practice discussing and defending their work while building empathy. Each course emphasizes design thinking, a strong work ethic, and the discipline required to pursue artistic excellence. Students also produce a cumulative portfolio reviewed at the end of each semester.

The Design + Build lab is not just a makerspace; it's a creative ecosystem where students engage in design thinking—a problem-solving approach that spans brainstorming, research, prototyping, and production. Here, students transform concepts into physical prototypes, applying their interdisciplinary and creative skills to tackle real-world challenges.

CHORAL MUSIC

MOELLER'S CHORAL MUSIC PROGRAM ISN'T JUST ABOUT SINGING;
IT'S ABOUT IGNITING A LIFELONG PASSION.  

Students will be immersed in the art of ensemble singing, fundamentals of music reading, theory, and aural skills, empowering singers to unlock the secrets of musical expression.

As a member of the choral program, students take center stage at spectacular fall, Christmas, and spring concerts, showcasing their talent to captivated audiences. Singers also share their gift of music at every school liturgy, inspiring and uplifting the entire community.

For those seeking the a higher level, the newly formed Varsity Singers ensemble awaits. This auditioned choir, open to all grade levels, challenges singers to conquer intricate repertoires and refine musical skills. As a Varsity Singer, students embark on thrilling performance tours, taking their voices to exciting new locations and competing in prestigious choral festivals.

WRITER-IN-RESIDENCE

Our writer-in-residence brings a unique blend of creative expertise, mentorship, and real-world writing experience, enriching the writing culture and fostering critical thinking across disciplines. Through innovative workshops, demonstrations, special programs, and collaboration with Moeller teachers and professional guests, the writer-in-residence engages students in a diverse range of composition—from real-world occupational and business writing to personal expression through nonfiction, songwriting, journaling, film, theatre, and literary and genre fiction. This dynamic role not only enhances storytelling and communication skills but also prepares students to navigate and contribute meaningfully in an interconnected world.
