The Story of Eveslage House

Eveslage House is named after Brother Lawrence Eveslage, S.M., the first principal of Archbishop Moeller High School. He was born on October 4, 1910, in Cincinnati’s west side and was a Marianist brother for 71 of his 90 years. Brother Larry – or “The Big E” as he was known – dedicated his entire life to high school education in the Marianist Tradition. Standing well over six feet tall, Brother Larry was a big man, both in stature and in attitude. Eveslage House won the first Marianist Cup and 6 of the first 10 years!

The Eveslage crest houses the Marianist Cross directly in the center. It represents the mission to which Brother Eveslage committed his life. The eagle, Eveslage House's mascot represents the ideals Eveslage house tries to emulate: authority, loyalty, courage. And the three crosses/three hills represent the three families to which we belong: Roman Catholic family, Moeller family, Eveslage family.

“Traditio Renata,” our motto: Tradition Reborn - We must carry on the tradition started by Brother Eveslage, to serve others by sharing our knowledge and talents.

Catholic. Marianist.
